Showbiz News is Stupid

Every news program has a short segment that discusses updates on showbiz personalities. Most of the time, if not all of the time, these segments contain stuff that are irrelevant to our lives. Thus, it is quite awkward to insert such insignificance in a serious program.
The biggest showbiz issue as of this writing is the break-up of Jolina Magdandal and her beau. The parties involved refuse to divulge any details about the break-up, however, the showbiz reporters keep on making a big deal out of it as if it were as important as the war in Gaza. Whenever it comes to showbiz love affairs, a lot of fans and reporters become so immature. In reality, a lot of couples who lasted longer eventually broke-up too, but the public never even bothered to ask the reason why. There are a lot of more controversial couple issues in which normal (not celebrity) people are involved, but they people don’t pay attention to them.
Another stupid news that I heard was on the radio about KC’s birthday wish to her mom, Sharon. The anchormen were playing some teasers of the showbiz segment. However, when the segment was finally reported, it turned out that the teaser was the same with the showbiz segment report. It was just a waste to time. What makes KC’s birthday message to her mom so special anyway. A lot of children have a birthday wish to their moms. KC’s message wasn’t profound, and it wasn’t that moving either.
There are a lot more nonsense lurking in showbiz new segments. You’ll never fail to encounter one daily.
Things like this just illustrate that news is not always about the events themselves, but it is now focused on the people involved in those events.
