This is to inform you of the increasing number of “phishing” cases that may come in the form of a legitimate looking email in an attempt to get confidential information such as your ATM card number, bank account number and ATM PIN among others. A sample of this email is shown hereunder.

Due to BancNet upgrade, Your Bank has disabled your ATM Card / Account due to recent upgrade. Activate your ATM and Account now. Your are required to activate immediately.

Should you encounter this or similar messages, kindly disregard immediately. BancNet does not require such information to upgrade its system. The ATM Card Number and PIN are only used to complete a banking transaction.
